PTM Practitioner Training

In order to become a Certified Phenomenal Touch Practitioner a student must attend 5 classes that are four days each (Levels One through Five). During this training, students will be exposed to over 100 PTM moves and 125 PTM principles that will transform their touch forever.  Completing these five levels (total of 20 days) will enable one to graduate as a Practitioner.  However, this is just the first coat of paint.  There is a tremendous amount of information in this first Practitioner Program and only so much can be absorbed of all that is presented.  In order to deepen in the work and apply a second coat (level) of paint, students attend the next level of Practitionership, the Advanced Practitioner Training.

PTM Advanced Practitioner Training

The Advanced Practitioner Training works with the same sets of moves and principles as the Practitioner Training but at a much deeper level.  After being exposed to everything in the original Practitioner Training, students take some time to practice and work with all they have learned and then return to understand what they have been practicing in a more precise, consistent and specific way.  Often one requires the Advanced Practitioner Training to begin to delve into the moves and principles in a much more comprehensive way.  Allowing the work to really resonate and reveal the detail; as would a second coat of paint. 

PTM Master Practitioner Training

The Master Practitioner Training is meant for those students who earnestly want to take the complex work of Phenomenal Touch to achieve its highest level of art form.  Often these practitioners aspire to become Certified as an Instructor of Phenomenal Touch Massage within the Institute.  The Master Practitioner training clarifies, defines & reveals the intention & grace of this work. The third coat of paint perfects and refines the moves and principles to mastery level.  Students who aspire to this Mastery may be required to mentor other students in class as a way of further embracing the work in preparation to becoming a true Master Practitioner & potentially on to becoming a Certified Instructor of Phenomenal Touch.  

• Upon taking the Master Practitioner Program, one of our students reported that although he wasn't learning new moves or principles, he felt like he was finally ready to really do the moves and principles to their fullest potential, which was proven to him by several of his returning clients expressing how much they loved all the new moves he was learning when actually they were the old moves just done at a higher level of perfection!

This work is truly an infinite landscape of touch that improves and deepens over time, like a good wine.

The PTM Instructor Certification Training 

To be recognized as a Certified Instructor of Phenomenal Touch Massage, as prerequisites, students need to achieve Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner and Master Practitioner Certifications.  Upon Master Certification, one may then apply to attend the PTM Instructor Training.  This training involves being an instructor's assistant (including all instructor meetings throughout the Practitionership with feedback and assessment) for One Complete Practitioner Program, i.e., five levels.  When the master student successfully passes their assessment, he or she will then, as a final exam, lead their own trial class where they organize and instruct a level one PTM class to be assessed and critiqued by Leslie Bruder, the founder.  When they pass, they are then eligible to teach PTM under the auspices of the Institute for Phenomenal Touch. Payments for classes that Instructors teach will be made by students to the IPT and Instructor is paid their share by the IPT .  If the master student does not pass the instructor exam assessment the first time, they may retake the instructor training, continuing to perfect their form & teaching skills, with the goal of successfully passing the examination assessment & be recognized as a certified Instructor.

The Instructor training is a powerful and deep way to learn all that you do and do not yet know about Phenomenal Touch Massage. In the loving and supportive process of learning to teach the work, students inevitably become better practitioners than they ever imagined they could be!

Upon completion of the Instructor training, not only do new instructors have the wonderful, exciting privilege of sharing this amazing work with the world, but of also being a part of the Phenomenal Touch Family of love and care forever!

While stand-alone level 1 & level 2 PTM trainings are scheduled several times throughout the year, and can be taken without any further commitment, the Practitioner Program  requires a commitment to attending all 5 levels, and happens ONLY once a year and thus is more rare.

Depending upon the interest level and needs of prospective students, the Practitioner Program can be scheduled over a 6 month time period, meeting five times for 4 consecutive days every 6 weeks or so.

The Practitioner Program can also be offered in an intensive format, where the students meet five times (4 days at a time) in a shorter time frame, ie over a three month period.  In this case, the levels are held closer together, ie Level 1, then two days off, followed by level 2.  Then a approx a month later, Level 3, then two days off, followed by Level 4.  Then approx a month later, Level 5. and Graduation.

The format of the Practitioner Program is decided by the interest level of the group that is forming for the next Program.  Each Program is designed specifically with its prospective students in mind.

However, whichever format is decided upon by IPT and the group, all enrolled students of the Practitioner Program MUST attend ALL FIVE (4-day) trainings in order to graduate and become a Practitioner of Phenomenal Touch Massage.

In the rare and unfortunate circumstance that a student must miss one of the levels, they are not permitted to graduate until that missed class is made up  by either taking it individually with a Phenomenal Touch Instructor (at a much higher cost than the group class) or attending the missed level  in the following Practitioner Program.  

The level of learning and depth of connection that happens in the Practitioner Program is astounding and life changing, and the continuity of the group is an essential piece of the transformational experience of becoming a Practitioner of this exceptional modality of touch.

Levels 1 & 2 can be attended by anyone, whereas levels 3, 4 & 5, are ONLY available to students enrolled in the Practitioner Program.  And while it is not a requirement to be a massage therapist to learn Phenomenal Touch, it is usually intended as a continuing education of a massage therapist.  Phenomenal Touch trainings DO NOT certify students to become massage therapists.  However, the Institute for Phenomenal Touch DOES certify students to become a certified Phenomenal Touch Practitioner, which allows them to procure liability Insurance through Hands on Trade Insurance.
